Hello, everyone. Do you know what pancake is? In Hawaii, pancake is so famous for sweet food. Americans like to eat it in the morning. First, I was surprised at seeing so crowded restaurant. Today, October 1, 2007, we went an original pancake restaurant at 9:00 am as our fieldtrip. When I saw inside of the restaurant throw the windows, there are so many people who were eating breakfast. In Japan, it is not usual to go outside to eat breakfast in the morning, so I thought it strange why Americans were coming here since morning. This is perhaps because I do not know how pancake is good. However, when we started eating pancake, everyone said, “This is so good!” everyone looked so happy when eating it. I became to understand the question. Pancake is awesome! I ate a toast then, and the toast was fine.
Second, I want to introduce the restaurant which I went today. The name is “The original pancake house.” Business hours are 6:00 to 2:00 every day. Usually, pancakes are about 6. 25$, but if you come here at 11:00 to 2:00, you can eat it more cheaply. This restaurant is located 1221 kapiolani Blvd, suite 103, Honolulu, Hawaii. Original Pancake House
Hello everyone.
Today, I had a first field trip in core 4. I went to the ORIGINAL PANCAKE HOUSE with my classmates. We went to the restaurant at 9 o’clock. At that time, some people lined outside of the restaurant. The restaurant was not big. However, there are many seats in the restaurant. It had gracious mood. All customers enjoyed this mood. In 1953, the ORIGINAL PANCAKE HOUSE was founded by Les Hight and Erma Hueneke in Portland, Oregon. There are many kind of food, for example, pancakes, waffles, eggs, and toast. All kind of foods are not expensive. Therefore, we can go easily. It is very convenient for student like us. This restaurant opens daily 6am to 2pm. Therefore, we can eat breakfast or lunch. Pancakes are recommended in this restaurant. There are many kinds of pancakes, for example, Hawaiian Pancakes, Swedish Pancakes, Blueberry Pancakes, Banana Pancakes, and Buttermilk Pancakes. The waitress said that the Coconut Pancakes are the most famous one. I ate Hawaiian Pancakes. It was very delicious. It had pineapples inside of pancakes. It had volume. Therefore, I could not eat completely myself. The price was about 6 dollars. It was not expensive. I shared with Waki. Therefore I paid 3 dollars. It was very cheap. The restaurant had 4 or 5 waiters and waitress at that time. They explained menu kindly. They also made good mood. I think mood is very important. Some decorations made good mood, for example, lights, tables, and music. This restaurant is located 1221 Kapiolani Blvd. It is not far from Waikiki. Therefore you can go easily. If you come to Hawaii, you should go this restaurant. I think that you will be happy. This restaurant is waiting for you.

Great Morning in Honolulu
The Original Pancake House, the shop where we went today was located near the Alamoana shopping center. When we arrived to there, the seats were almost full. And also, sweet pancakes’ flavor grazed my nose at the same time. My stomach got ready to eat them immediately. There are many dishes in the menu not only pancakes but also omelets and crapes and more. This time, I ordered “Hawaiian pancake” (6.95$). It is one of the most popular dishes in the shop. “Actually, macadamia nuts pancake is also one kind of popular one.” One waitress said so. There were so many visitors, but we could meet to our dishes soon. I think the speed is also good appeal to make satisfy to us.
The pancake was so hot and smelled good. It was not only so sweet, but also some sour flavor by pineapple. The butter on the hot pancake already began to melt. Moreover, the volume was tremendous!! Maybe, no one can eat a second helping of it. It was also feast for my eyes. I could not wait to eat, and as soon as it was put on my desk, I took knife and fork. When I cut it, I was surprised by its fluffy touch. And when I ate it, I felt that the dough disappeared in my mouth. I could not say anything the moment. It was so sweet and sour. What a yummy thing!! I have made pancakes, so I really under stand that it was so difficult to make moderately. It was never half baked one, but certainly, there was comfort moist. I really enjoyed eating them.

The shop’s recipe demands only the finest ingredients, such as 93 score butter, pure 36% whipping cream, fresh grade AA eggs, hard wheat unbleached flour, and the shop’s recipe sourdough starter. The shop’s batters and sauces are made fresh in each restaurant’s kitchen.

Today, our class had the first field trip. Nick took us The Original Pancake House by a car. It is located on Kapiolani Blvd near Victoria Word Centers. It is not so far from Waikiki. The pancake house opens from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. everyday. This pancake house is very popular among loco, and it has been for over 35 years. When we arrived there, it was very crowded, and there were various generational people from children to elderly people. We had to wait a few minutes. The ambience of the pancake house was great. I imagined an old warm country house in America. There was a lot of stained glass. I noticed one of them that was made like pancake. It was really cute!! Also, the people who worked in this pancake house were friendly. I could not decide easily what I ate because there were a variety of pancakes. There were not only pancakes but also crapes, waffles, and so on, and all of them were looked very delicious for me. I ordered butter milk pancake. More than 5 pancakes were on a plate. It was fluffy, sweet, and really really delicious. I love to eat pancakes with maple syrup. It was also delicious and not too heavy. I spread syrup sufficiently. It was very happy for me. My friends ordered Banana pancakes and Hawaiian pancakes that ware pancakes with pineapples. My friend and I shared a little and I could try to eat other kind of pancakes. They were also so delicious. According to explanation on the menu, this pancake house is based on authentic recipes, preparation of all mixes by hand, and using only fresh ingredients. A waitress told us that the most popular dish in this pancake house is Macadamia Nut Pancake. The prices are reasonable. They are about from 5.00 to 7.00 dollars, and every dish has a hearty dish. I ate a lot, and I was very satisfied!!!

If people come and get food in this restaurant, people should park in Validated parking, and if you want to check that day’s special, you can call 596-8213. This restaurant is opening daily AM6:00 through PM2:00. So, the restaurant is good for breakfast. This restaurant’s special dishes are Apple Pancake, Dutch Baby, and Senior Plate. Then, this restaurant’s most popular pancake is macadamia pancake. However, today I ordered banana pancake. This pancake is baked pancake that has banana inside. That taste is very delicious. I could taste maple syrup with sweet banana. In addition, Original Pancake House has very good coffee. They use Kona blend coffee. Kona coffee is one of the most favorite coffee, and that blend taste like I drunk one when I went to Maui island. Kona is one of cities in Hawaii Island. Kona coffee is grown in that place. Therefore, that coffee named Kona coffee. Finally, I want to compare Original Pancake House with Eggs’n Things. First I would like to say, it is just my opinion. The taste is that Eggs’n Things is better than Original Pancake House. However, the price is opposite. So, if people want to go pancake restaurant, Original Pancake House is good for their wallet
